MORE OF A GENERAL RULE: THIS IS A VERY PRIVATE BLOG, I AM NOT PROMOTING IT OUTSIDE OF FAMILIAR FRIENDS AND CONFIDANTS. IF YOU DON'T LIKE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING TRIGGERS OR CHARACTERS OR FANDOMS, NAMELY STRONG THEMES OF INCEST, ABUSE, RACISM AND VIOLENCE PLEASE JUST HARD BLOCK AND MOVE ON.
INTRODUCTIONS , Hi. I’m Cas. 28. GMT + 8. She / Her. Honestly mostly chill unless my anxiety is flaring up and just generally slow with everything.
ACTIVITY , I try to reply to everything I’m tagged to, even if it might take me a month or so to get to it. Often, I only really have the energy to do some proper writing during the weekends, even if I can be online during the weekday. So I usually almost always queue my replies just so I don’t get overwhelmed. I have a few blogs and I’ve learned that this system best works for me so it doesn’t kill my muse. So please don’t hound me for replies. Feel free to ask for the occasional update though. And I will tell you when it feels like you are hounding me for it just so we don’t both get stressed over it. But as a practice, I usually like things I intend to reply to while I save them in my drafts.
CONTACT , I am usually the easiest to reach through IMS but I’m willing to share discord info to see if that’s more convenient. Or if you wanna set up a server so we can go crazy there too. I do have easier access to telegram for OOC chat and plotting too if that is easier for you too.
SELECTIVITY , This is purely for my sanity. I reserve the right to reply or not reply to threads depending on my muse. This also doesn’t mean I’m exclusive to book based portrayals for Jonathan even though I don’t have a specific show verse. I am more than willing to plot stuff out, I just prefer it than actively writing within the show universe. And I usually maintain a MUTUALS ONLY interaction. It’s just better for me and my anxiety. This is also to avoid any drama on my dash. I am not here for shameless call out culture. You can dislike the content. You can dislike me as a person. But please don’t make presumptions. If what I do or write does not suit you, don’t tell me or others what to do. I don’t condone any of the things any of my character does or has done. But he is a favorite of mine so I will adapt him as I like. If that isn’t cup of your tea, feel free to unfollow or use the block button to your heart’s content. And if I am doing anything worth reporting to the proper authorities, seriously, I encourage it. I understand the consequences. I will try, to the utmost of my ability, to be an adult about conflict. But again, the unfollow or block button is your friend if you think I am not.
PORTRAYAL , I am heavily book based with headcanon divergences and liberties. None of anything that has happened within the canon of shadowhunters tv show is applied to my canon unless specifically adapted to specific plots or threads. I don’t have a show verse or anything that really coincides with that world. I tend to adapt my canon to each thread or to the particular plot. So it had to be plotted out first. ( Although, I’m not too fussed with a simple conversation. It doesn’t need to be too extensive. ) Also an important divergence is that nothing post city of heavenly fire when it comes to the books is applied to my portrayal. I do not recognize anything related to ash morgenstern on my blog. It is also important to note that themes of incest will be applied on most occasions. His obsession with Clary is not watered down at all. It is a very big part of who his character is to me so I don’t shy away from that. With that said, if you ever feel uncomfortable with that and ever feel like I am forcing a ship between them and you’d rather keep it platonic, I totally respect that. Clary and Jonathan as a relationship to me is important whether it is unrequited, healthy, platonic or unhealthy amorous and fucked up. I sincerely love their relationship no matter what. So long as there’s a mutual agreement between partners when it comes to doing whatever we do with them, I’m fine with that. Again, I’m not here to make anyone ship or like my character.
Aaron, on the other hand, is also purely book based with headcanon divergencies and liberties. Most of these are fully in connection to my main partner, METUANT. And mostly set during post Imagine Me era.
SHIPPING , With the nature of both characters to be found, I do prefer shipping to be plotted out first. But even with this, I can be very selective as well. It is not solely exclusive to chemistry between the characters, but chemistry between muns is also a must. Please be aware that nothing about Jonathan is easy, so shipping could be a problematic mess or a wholesome mess depending on the universe. Either way, I will never water him down to suit a ship.
EXCEPTION TO THE RULE: Is for Aaron. Jonathan may be more bendable in that department but Aaron for the most part of me writing him on and off for like two years now, he's very single minded and shows no romantic inclination outside of the main ship. Not that I would force ship but just generally speaking, he is only interested in ELLA SOMMERS as his romantic partner. Sexual relationships pre-ELLA may be considered.
FORMATTING , It is really not a big deal to me how you write or how you format. I am very adaptable to that sort of thing, so long as I can understand it. I don’t mind if icons or gifs are used in the thread. I won’t enforce any formatting or anything if you don’t want to just like I don’t expect you to make me format mine like yours. But I do use small text and tiny text on occasion. But should that be inconvenient to you and hard to read, just let me know and I’ll switch it up to normal text. I am happy to accommodate any visual or reading difficulty that might occur.
CONTENT , This is a very important warning about my blog. I do not shy away from the parts that make Jonathan insufferable and dark and evil. So really, given the nature of who Jonathan Morgenstern is, triggering content will happen on this blog. Mature themes along the lines of VIOLENCE, ABUSE, INCEST, TORTURE, ETC., will occur on this blog. He is a VILLAIN and while I flesh him out, he is and always will be a villain within the spectrum of canon. I do try to tag them as best as I can and if I forget, seriously, you’re happy to go off in my inbox and be like TAG THAT MESS. But also, I can’t promise the magnitude of that mess, because the triggering content might vary from day to day, so if the abundance of these themes is not for you, I would suggest it’d be easier to unfollow or block for your own mental health.I am not writing him to make anyone feel bad or for anyone to even care about my interpretation of Jonathan. I am writing him for my own enjoyment and for my respective partners.
This also applies, albeit, to a lesser extreme to Aaron. He has had a problematic, abusive, and generally unhinged past and present depending on the time line. He is as much a murderer as he is a victim of his upbringing. So triggers may be present.
